Peaceful Picasso is the new release digistamp set on Vera Lane Studio this week. Isn’t she gorgeous?! She is such a beautiful image to work with…with the added wreath and sentiments she can be used in so many different ways. Cards, ATCs, wall hangings and so much more!
This piece in my mixed media art journal has been painted with Brea Reese glitter inks in the following colors: ocean green, pink, violet, raw umber, cadmium yellow, and neutral grey. I also added golden accents for the berries with the Kuratake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors in red gold. Inktense pencils were used to add a bit of dimension to the leaves in the wreath.
I wanted to make an atc with a retro feel to it. I think I achieved that look with the Peaceful Picasso image. To get the muted tones used in this atc I just mixed a bit of water with Brea Reese glitter inks. Brea Reese fine liner pens were also used on this as well. I added some Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges to age it a bit.
Hope you enjoyed my post. Until next time…
This week over on the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog the optional theme for this weeks challenge is LOTS OF SPARKLE!
I created a few projects for this one! The first on is a couple of gift card holders. I used embellishments and papers from the Winnie in Winterland bundle. The sentiment on the gift card holder on the right is from the Winnie White Christmas Bundle. After assembling the gift card holders I coated the outside of the envelopes with some super sparkly glitter paint.
My second project is corrugated steel tree shaped ornament I added some holographic green glitter to and added a precolored embellishment from the Winnie in Winterland Bundle.
I hope you enjoyed these two glittery projects as much as I enjoyed making them! Make sure you head over to join in the Polkadoodles Blog Challenge.

This was a fun lil 4×6 card to make! The theme for the Oddball Art Stamps Blog Challenge is Christmas Lights !

This week I thought we could revisit some holiday themed Vera Lane Studio digistamp sets.
Tree Gal on 4×6 watercolor paper is definitely ready for Christmas! She has quickly became one of my holiday favorites! Her expression and that amazing head full of tree hair…or is it a hat? And she’s a FAIRY!!! I love fairies! I painted her with Brea Reese Glitter Inks. She has a friend in the same set named Countdown that will probably show up here sometime in December.
This warm toned beauty above is part of the Oaxacan Angels digistamp set. I normally work with much cooler colors but truly enjoyed all the warm tones in this beauty. She will warm the heart of whoever receives her. She is painted with Brea Reese Glitter Inks and accented with a white gel pen. I added some fun art fibers for the tassel.
December, this classy candy cane inspired cutie is decked out in her holiday best and ready to celebrate. She is a member of the Vera Lane Studio Birthday Club Collection. The trees are from the Tree Lot set. There are 11 trees in that set! 11! So many ways to mix and match them up with other Vera Lane Studio digis! I kept this 4×6 card pretty simple and felt the white space was perfect for a snow scene. Just a little silver glitter shadow under the trees and December to give the illusion of snow 🙂 This card was painted with Brea Reese inks as well.
I hope you enjoyed traveling back in time with Vera Lane Studio digis today. I know I did. I love VLS and can’t wait to share more goodies next week!
Until next time…
Today I’m gonna show you how to transfer an image to a premade ornament.
- Premade unfinished ceramic ornament (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby)
- Laser Printer (this is a must)
- QOR Watercolor Ground
- AD Marker Blender Pen
- Oddball Art Stamps A Christmas Wish Image #408
- Watercolor Inks or Paint – I use Brea Reese Glitter Inks
- Various Art Fibers or Ribbon for hanging
Allow to dry completely. Sometimes takes up to 24 hours.
Allow transferred image to dry completely before moving to step 5.
You may want to spray with a fixative and add a clear coat to protect the ornament. I added some white accents with Uniball Signo white gel pen. Add ribbon and display.
Hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial. Check back next week for more watercolor goodness!

It’s another new release week over on Vera Lane Studio Etsy store! This week Janet has brought us even more of her whimsical Wonderland awesomeness with Wonderland Set 2. Set 2 is a such a perfect compliment to Wonderland set 1 and the Wonderland accessories bundle. Check them out below!
I created a bookmark featuring the Queen of Hearts, the Tweedles and Cheshire and I also added the teacups from the wonderland accessory bundle. I thought the Tweedles would look adorable sitting in the teacups! I painted the entire piece with Brea Reese Glitter Inks and added some whimsical fibers to the top. As I was finishing the bookmark I thought why not make them all balloons carried by the Queen. I mean it’s Wonderland…why not right?!
I also wanted to share a few ATCs I made for the Wonderland ATC swap over in the Vera Lane Studio Digistamp Facebook group. Again both are painted with Brea Reese products and I used digistamps from the Wonderland set and accessories bundle.
Hope you enjoyed my post this week and check back soon to see what I’ve been up to! Believe me I can’t wait to share all the beautiful digistamps coming up in the next few months on Vera Lane Studio!
I’m super excited to finally announce that I’m part of the Polkadoodles Design Team! I’m so excited to be part of such a talented group!
My first inspiration project is the North Pole Cottages Advent Calendar…a friend gave me the idea to make the traditional advent calendar an apartment complex of sorts for all the creatures and characters in the North Pole to live in.
What I used:
The paper mache advent calendar I purchased at a local craft store.
It features just a small portion of the absolutely adorable Polkadoodles papers, embellies, characters & more from the Winnie White Christmas big kahuna download kit and Winnie Winterland big kahuna digital craft download bundle.
I added lots of sparkle using an Art-c glitter pen to embellish each piece.
I hope I have inspired you to create and enter the current Polkadoodles Blog Challenge. Just follow the link below 🙂

Don’t you just love the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland? I do! Alice and all the quirky characters of wonderland have always held a special place in my heart. Janet of Vera Lane Studio introduced and amazing digistamp set of characters & quotes this week!
Aren’t they adorable?! You can get them here. Be sure to check out all the other digistamps in the shop as well! There is something for everyone and every occasion!
The featured image above is a pocket page in my mini Happy Planner. The four small pockets are 2×2 inches and the large middle pocket is approximately 3×4.25 inches. Each image is printed on Canson watercolor paper and painted with Brea Reese watercolor and glitter inks. Handwritten quotes from the book or movies.
I absolutely love how they look printed directly onto onto the mini Happy Planner pages and painted with Brea Reese glitter inks! Again I added handwritten quotes. I embellished the Mad Hatter page with spiral and star confetti and did an ink splatter on the Alice page. Lil Absolem in the corner is a twinchie that wasn’t used on the pocket page above.
Above you will see a close up of all the twinchies (two by two inch squares) I made with these versatile and fun characters. I found it fun to paint them in non traditional colors too! Never be afraid to do your own thing!
Oh before I forget… design team member Corrie Herriman is hosting the monthly ATC swap on the VLS Digistamps Facebook Group. This months theme is “Wonderland,” come join in the fun!
Be sure to give the other ladies on the Design Team a follow as well!
Hope you enjoyed my design team inspiration post this week.
Today being my favorite day of the year I wanted to share another Halloween ATC I made featuring Vera Lane Studio’s revamped vintage digistamp set Stella Luna. The cat in this set has such an awesome personality!!!
They are painted with some of my favorite shades of glitter ink by Brea Reese I used lake blue, medium magenta, ocean green, gold and violet. Her skin tone is a mixture of raw umber and neutral grey with a touch of pink.
The background was created using two different designs of printable digital papers by Papercakes by Serena Bee. I combined both sets October Nights & Spooky Pastel. They are printed on metallic paper by Neenah. I finished the ATC by adding a few pieces of Halloween confetti and handwritten “witchy” sign.
Come play on the Vera Lane Studio Facebook group!
Hope you enjoyed my post. See you soon!
